This coming Sunday, 22nd November 2020, our annual Christmas Mass Bouquet Cards from the Harbour Parishes will be available in all four of our Churches from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. in the afternoon. This initiative has been organised by the Parish Assembly each Christmas for several years now as a way of sharing the best wishes and prayers of our community with those near and far. The priests of the parish have signed the Mass Bouquet Cards and will offer a Novena of Masses over the Christmas period asking God’s blessing on all those who receive our cards. Let your loved ones know that, not only are you thinking of them, but that they will be remembered in our Novena of Masses this year.
This year, in keeping with Covid19 guidelines, the cards come in prepacked packs of 5 to minimise common touch surfaces. These will be available on a table in each of our Churches on Sunday afternoon. Simply pick up however many packs you need. There is no fixed charge or cost for the cards. We simply ask that you make an offering of your own choosing and according to your own circumstances in the ‘honesty box/bucket’ beside the table. Members of the Parish Assembly will be discreetly present in the Church, socially distanced, to safeguard the offerings received but your offering will be completely private and confidential
Every penny received as an offering for the cards will go directly to the local conference of the Society of St Vincent de Paul to help in their outreach to local families in need this Christmas. The Society of St Vincent de Paul have been unable to hold their monthly Church Gate Collection this year which is traditionally the mainstay of their fundraising efforts. Your offering for our Christmas Cards this year will allow you not only to send love to family and friends at Christmas, it will help to spread love here in our own community by supporting the work of St Vincent de Paul.
So please, send love and spread love, by using our Christmas Mass Bouquet Cards this year!
A special word of thanks to the Parish Assembly for taking this initiative on behalf of our parish again this year. Together we can all make a difference.
