This past week each parish in the diocese received an allocation of seven invitations to the Episcopal Ordination of Fr Fintan Gavin who will be ordained Bishop of Cork & Ross at 3.00 p.m. on Sunday, 30th June in the Cathedral of St Mary & St Anne, [affectionately known to many as The North Chapel]. Bishop-Elect Fintan has asked that, if at all possible, young adults be represented within each parish’s allocation of seven invitations. Each invitation also includes an invite to supper in the Rochestown Park Hotel after the Ordination Ceremony.

If you would like to avail of one of our parish invitations to be part of this special ceremony please call Cathy during Parish Office hours or say it to either Fr Con or myself by Tuesday week, 11th June 2019.  If the number of requests exceeds the number of tickets we have been allocated we will simply draw lots to decide who receives the tickets.  It might seem an arbitrary way to choose but such a method in fact goes way back to the time of the apostles when they drew lots to decide who would take the place of Judas amongst them.  Episcopal Ordinations occur only once in a generation so if you would like to be part of this very special and historic occasion please let us know as soon as possible.                                     Fr Seán
