Bidding Prayers
12thSunday of Ordinary Time
Introduction(by the Presider): Trusting in the love and care of our Heavenly Father, who knows each one of us by name, let us bring our prayers before him.
- For the Church: that she may boldly proclaim the Gospel and continue to encourage us to place our trust in God. Lord, hear us.
- For Paul Ryan who will be ordained to the permanent diaconate this weekend: that he may serve God's people with faith, humility, and joy. Lord, hear us.
- For Christians who face persecution, discrimination, or hardship because of their faith: that they may be strengthened by the Holy Spirit. Lord, hear us.
- For leaders of nations and all who hold public office:that they may work for justice, peace, and the dignity of every human person. Lord, hear us.
- For fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, and all who act as fathers to others:that they may be blessed with wisdom, strength, and love. Lord, hear us.
- For the sick, the elderly, and all who suffer in body, mind, or spirit:that they may experience God’s healing presence. Lord, hear us.
The Presider prays for the dead: For our deceased fathers and all those who have died (especially N&N): that they may rejoice forever in God’s presence. Lord, hear us.
Conclusion (by the Presider): Father of mercy and love, you know the needs of your people before we ask. Hear our prayers through Christ our Lord.
